WHERE WE LIE (2022)

When a group of student filmmakers arrive on location everything seems normal until the director, Icarus is trapped within the hallway. Rooms then begin to shift and transform, changing the location into a maze of dead ends.

WHERE WE LIE (2022)

The only poster created for the film, showcases the old man, a shapeshifter who can manipulate the fabric of reality itself.

The motivation behind this project stemmed from a desire to craft a traditional horror story within the analogue horror genre, driven by the captivating aesthetic qualities of VHS. While the analogue horror genre usually spans multiple videos to create a larger narrative, with moments that may drag on for too long this project sought to distinguish itself through this short by making it a self-contained story. The only hints of a broader narrative lie in the opening and ending of the short but it can be enjoyed outside of the larger narrative.

Compared to Jordan-Kane's previous projects, this film granted a tremendous amount of artistic freedom concerning cinematography with this project primarily influencing the choice to allow a free moving camera in Nothing Goes (TBC)

"My aim was to create a short horror film that leaves the audience both fulfilled and genuinely creeped out, while also sparking a curiosity and longing for more."

This may be one of a few narratives slightly strung together by slight references but featuring different creatures and or monsters. This could be the start of an analogue anthology.

Where We Lie Extra's

Original soundtrack by Harry Barron

Harry teamed up with Jordan for the second time on this project, and unlike their previous collaboration, he experienced much more freedom. This time, his task was to compose a song to be featured only at the end of the short film. With this newfound liberty, Harry chose to craft something ethereal, modern, and haunting, perfectly complementing the film's atmosphere and leaving a lasting impact on the audience.

Teaser Trailer for Where We Lie (2022)

Rather than a conventional trailer, this was more of a teaser, offering a glimpse of the narrative told in a manner that slightly deviates from the traditional storytelling approach. It lies in mixing up narrative beats featured in the final film.

The making of the "Mask"

In this short video me see the making of the mask/skin which is seen in the short. Make-up for the short was entirely created by Georgia Maxwell
